All those who believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior are members of His Church. But that membership isn’t meant to be merely theoretical but practical. Jesus expects His followers to meet together for worship, for learning, for ministry, for fellowship. Look at this verse, which focuses on the idea of encouragement ... something we all need.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10.24-25).”
Those are some of the reasons why Christians join local congregations ... it’s where their devotion to Jesus gets fleshed out.
The Pastor’s Class is for those who are interested in becoming a member of this particular local congregation ... Hope Church. Over the course of at least four sessions, you will learn how to become and grow as a Christian, and what membership here entails.
